What is the My Coast App?
MyCoast is a first-of-its-kind, innovative free app which enables users to plan ahead for their best and safest trip to the beach. Our real-time verified information has been created by the community, for the community aiming to help users make better decisions before entering the water.
Working with leading global platforms, our data includes an API from Meteomatics – the global leader in weather intelligence as well as the latest water quality data from South West Water and the Environment Agency, which we then uniquely curate depending on the users chosen activity. We then work with the RNLI to overlay this data with specific safety parameters built into every beach.
Underpinning the MyCoast app is our own innovative platform which we built using OS Maps. We have then also then created our own ‘scouting’ facility, allowing us to geolocate facilities and amenities across each beach. This uniquely enables users to do everything from ‘find my’ nearest life station to toilets, life buoys and even dog poo bins!
With five million tourists visiting Cornwall annually and countless residents frequenting the stunning coastline, MyCoast will be the only inclusive, easy-to-use platform. And it’s completely free to download.
